Yes, you can!

Is the Chrome extension itself free?

Yes. Install the extension at zero cost from the Chrome Web Store. The 14-day trial gives you full HappySupport features on top, including GitHub Sync and the Help Center publisher. No credit card required.

Where is the data hosted?

EU only. Application runs on Netcup in Nuremberg. Database lives on Neon in Frankfurt. File storage is AWS S3 in Frankfurt (eu-central-1). Standard GDPR Data Processing Agreement available.

Does it record video?

No. The recorder captures DOM and CSS selectors plus one screenshot per step. No video file, no audio, no screen recording. The output is a text-and-screenshot guide.

What happens when our UI changes?

HappyAgent watches your front-end repo. When a CSS or DOM selector inside a recorded step changes, the affected guides are flagged for review and the update is proposed automatically. You approve the change inside HappySupport.

Does the recorder work on any product?

Any web application that renders in Chrome. No SDK, no instrumentation, no engineering ticket. If you can open it in a browser, the recorder can read it.
